Parents, Uncles, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Arm Chair Quarterbacks, We need your help! There is a shortage of people willing to help out in all facets of sports. Last winter several tournaments in basketball and wrestling were cancelled due to lack of workers. It happened again this summer with softball. If the season started today we would not have junior high boys basketball due to lack of coaches. We are going to need help with game administration starting Aug. 26 running through February. Ticket takers, line judges, clock keepers, and such are needed to make events run smoothly. There is a shortage of officials throughout the entire state. Disposal of Obsolete Items: Each Summer we have to make room for the new and move out the old. On Aug. 1 from 10-12 we will be selling items such as desks, tables, chairs, tools, etc. Prices will be more than reasonable.
Paraprofessional Opening: Charlo Schools has an opening for a Full-Time K-12 Paraprofessional Aide. This position will be working at various levels in K-12 depending on the District’s needs. Charlo works on a 4 day school week. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday. Coaching Positions for 2022-2023: Charlo Schools 7J has an opening for 2 Junior High Boys Basketball Coaches for the 2022-2023 season. Junior High Boys Basketball begins around the middle of October and ends in early December. Charlo is a Class “C” school with 80 students in the High School and 250 students overall in K-12. It is located in the beautiful Mission Valley North of Missoula, MT. Salary is a stipend of approximately $2200 depending on years of experience. Athletes Clean Out the Lockers in the Locker Rooms! Athletes need to remove all personal gear from locker rooms by July 22. This includes personal belongings from athletic lockers. Anything found after that will be donated to Good Will or it will be thrown away. All Gyms and locker rooms will be OFF LIMITS starting July 25-Aug. 10 for gym floor refinishing, lobby floor refinishing, locker room cleaning, etc.
Sports Physicals: Both St. Luke’s and St. Joseph’s are local resources for sports physicals. Both have also been very supportive of local schools financially. We have not heard from St. Joseph’s yet but we do know that St. Luke’s will donate $25 back to the school for each sports physical done with them. For more information please contact any of St. Luke’s providers. All athletes must have a physical in order to start practice.
2022-2023 School Year: Yes, it’s only July but the first day of school will be here before you know it. There will be a parent meeting with coaches on Aug. 11. High school athletes start practice on Aug. 12 while all students report on Aug. 24 so please start planning ahead for supplies, sports physicals, fees, etc. We will be getting out more information as the big day approaches on practice times, meetings, bus routes, and class schedules. Supply lists for each teacher can be found on the school website under the staff directory. Choose the teacher and then click on supplies under the teacher’s name.
Substitutes: We will be looking for substitute teachers, custodians, kitchen help, and bus drivers at the school. If that is something you are interested in please contact the school. Substitute are vital to keeping the doors open. Call 644-2206 for more information.

School Board Meeting Aug. 16 at 8 PM in the Library. Regular monthly school board meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month. Agendas are posted no later than the Friday before the meeting at the school, Charlo Post Office, and Dixon Post Office. Board packets are available upon request at the District Office.
